(Fame Flynet and PacificCoastNews)Shortly after Chris Brown confirmed that he'd broken up with his longtime girlfriend Karrueche Tran, admitting that the relationship had been strained by his ongoing "friendship" with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, the woman he was convicted of assaulting took to Twitter to state, "Ain't nobody bidness..... But mine and my baby!"
Consistently troubled rapper Chris Brown picks up his girlfriend Karrueche Tran in New York City where the pair headed to her hotel. (Pacific Coast News)more pics »Apparently she wasn't on the same page with Brown, who took their business and shared it with some 11 million Twitter followers. On Thursday evening, just a few hours after he announced his breakup with aspiring model Karrueche Tran, Brown tweeted a link to a video clip with the caption "The Real Chris Brown!"
What followed was a public relations stunt of epic proportions: A minute-and-a-half clip in which Brown confesses his love for both of his exes, drunkenly musing, "You share a history with sombody then you tend to fall in love with somebody else, it's kinda difficult, you know what I'm sayin'? It's like... is there such thing as loving two people?"
Brown's admission might not have been so shocking had there not been startling production values to the video: The piece looked as if it had been edited by the same person who pieced together the Armageddon-lite music video Brown debuted just last month, with shots of Brown canoodling with both ladies in different locations peppered in with snippets of him looking moody and emaciated. Not only is this stuff trying hard to be deep — it also looks like it was expensive. And calculated. And maybe not the best idea.
Veteran publicist Jack Ketsoyan seems to think Brown's latest antics are just the latest in a string of contrived deeds. "By now we have a pretty good idea of who the real Chris Brown is," Ketsoyan said. "Every time he apologizes for what he has done the next thing you know he is attacking another person. Everything that he does is calculated and well-acted but unfortunately, he will never change."
Tran responded to the video within an hour, tweeting, "All I'm saying is.. You don't mess with people's genuine feelings. You just don't!" She added, "Life moves on.. So let's all."
